Aug 30, 2014. Location. EU. TDI. Mk5 1.9TDI PD. Jan 18, 2017. #3. Some Mk5 1.9 TDIs have problems with starter which for some reason, when they are warm, struggle to crank the engine at the revs needed for ECU to start injecting fuel. (250rpm on warm engine; 200rpm cold) So, check your starter, if it's not Bosch but Valeo or some other
My VW Golf 1.9 TDI 2007 recently suffered major engine damage after a loss of power on the motorway. The AA patrol said suspected cam belt failure, which was worrying as it had been changed only 20,000 miles ago. Once in my local garage they discovered the cam belt and timing were fine but suspected it had dropped a valve.
Re: GT TDi 170 Injectors - Common Problem? ยซ Reply #5 on: September 08, 2011, 09:25:31 pm ยป. I think you should push for a partial (dependent on amount of service history) refund. I've got a Golf Mk5 1.9TDI (2004 - 125K) and for the last 4months I've been having some really odd issues with the coolant/level. From time to time the coolant level light comes on, and when you look at the coolant, it is around 2-3cm below the min. level. However, when you undo the expansion cap, there's a big whoosh of pressure and the level
Re: Mk5 1.9tdi 'hoo' problem. ยซ Reply #8 on: March 21, 2012, 12:59:18 pm ยป. All tdi golf's seem to have a slight owl 'hoo' to them. I spoke to a VAG specialist who said it is probably a nick or slight defect in one (or more) of the turbo impeller vanes causing it to give of a noise. As the turbo is spinning at crazy RPM's you get anything
crqG.
